Senior Vice President, Talent, Skills & Growth
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Talent, Skills, & Growth to join our Corporate Affairs team in New York.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Senior Vice President to support the design and implementation of enterprise talent initiatives across BNY. This role will partner closely with senior stakeholders across the People Team and business leaders to embed a skills-driven talent strategy that strengthens leadership pipelines, enhances internal mobility, and enables consistent talent decisions across the firm.
This individual will help build scalable frameworks, tools, and governance to advance how we assess, develop, and promote talent, while ensuring alignment with BNY’s broader talent architecture and business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Support Enterprise Skills
- Partner in the rollout and embedding of BNY’s enterprise skills framework across employee and manager experiences
- Translate the skills strategy into practical execution, developing scalable tools, guidance, and communications for business and People Team stakeholders
- Integrate skills consistently into goal setting, development planning, learning pathways, and core talent processes
- Contribute to governance and ongoing evolution of the firm’s talent architecture
- Advance Talent Assessment and Data-Driven Decisions
- Define, implement, and drive adoption of consistent, enterprise-wide talent assessment approaches
- Design criteria and frameworks to evaluate talent across experience, skills, impact, and leadership
- Partner with analytics and technology teams to improve visibility into talent and bench strength
- Strengthen Talent Processes and Governance
- Partner with business and People Team leaders to create firmwide guidance for talent reviews, succession planning, and nominations
- Standardize tools, playbooks, and reporting to drive consistency and transparency
- Collaborate with People Business Partners and leaders to embed best practices across the organization
- Drive Promotion and Leadership Readiness Frameworks
- Contribute to the design and evolution of level-based role expectations and promotion frameworks
- Support the development of readiness criteria and decision processes across levels
- Build and scale tools, frameworks, and resources to enable more consistent promotion outcomes
Qualifications
- Strong comfort and experience working in PowerPoint and storytelling
- Experience building frameworks, tools, and scalable processes
- Strong ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate insights into action
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leaders
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving alignment across cross‑functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents.
