Arena Stage is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative Social Media Specialist to bring the energy of live theater into the digital space. This role is responsible for leading the strategy, content creation, and execution of organic social media across platforms, with a strong emphasis on static imagery, GIFs, and short-form video (Reels, Shorts, TikTok).
The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a content creator-someone who can concept, capture, and produce compelling social assets that drive engagement, expand audience reach, and deepen connection to our productions and community.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute platform-specific social media strategies that drive engagement, audience growth, and brand awareness
Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaign priorities, production timelines, and institutional initiatives
Own day-to-day management of social channels, including planning, posting, and community engagement
Monitor platform trends and emerging formats to continuously evolve strategy and content approach
Content Creation & Video Production
Create original, platform-native content (graphic, video, etc.) that reflects the voice, energy, and storytelling of Arena Stage productions
Concept, capture, and edit high-performing short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
Collaborate with internal teams (artistic, production, marketing) to identify and execute content opportunities
Attend rehearsals, events, and performances as needed to capture behind-the-scenes and in-the-moment content
Influencer & Partnership Support
Support the execution of influencer campaigns in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing Specialist
Assist in identifying creators and managing content coordination to ensure alignment with campaign goals
Help track performance and surface insights to inform future partnerships
Analytics & Optimization
Monitor performance metrics across platforms, including engagement, reach, and video performance
Translate data into actionable insights to refine content strategy and improve results
Provide regular reporting on social performance and key learnings
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or a related field
Proven experience creating and editing short-form video content for social platforms
Strong understanding of social media trends, platform best practices, and audience engagement strategies
Proficiency in tools such as Canva, social media scheduling platforms, and video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro)
Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Excellent storytelling instincts with a strong visual and creative sensibility
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Outgoing, collaborative, and comfortable capturing content in live, fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in arts, entertainment, or live events
Familiarity with influencer marketing and creator partnerships
Basic knowledge of paid social or campaign integration is a plus
In-office work, with an ability to be hybrid as needed. Regular evening and weekend availability required for performances, events, and content capture.
