Account Director
Allison Worldwide is seeking a strategic and client-focused Account Director to lead corporate communications programs for large corporate and technology clients. This role is ideal for a seasoned communications professional who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, executive visibility, public policy, and financial communications.
The Account Director will serve as a senior client advisor and team leader, driving integrated communications programs that elevate brand reputation, support executive thought leadership, and engage key stakeholders including policymakers, investors, media, and industry influencers.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute integrated communications strategies across earned media, executive visibility, and thought leadership that are aligned with client business objectives
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing strategic counsel on reputation, policy, and market positioning
Develop compelling narratives that resonate with media, investors, and policymakers
Drive proactive media relations, securing high-impact coverage across business, technology, and policy outlets
Anticipate risks and proactively advise clients on issues management and crisis preparedness
Support and collaborate on retail investor communications, including earnings, investor events, and ongoing storytelling while ensuring clarity and compliance in financial messaging
Monitor and analyze the evolving policy and government affairs landscape, translating regulatory and legislative developments into actionable communications strategies with compelling narratives
Identify and secure high-impact speaking opportunities, panels, and industry engagements for senior executives
Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative team culture
Guide team members in developing compelling story angles and securing high-impact coverage
Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, influencers, analysts and media stakeholders
Ensure high-quality deliverables, on-time execution, proactive client services, and budget adherence across work
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields
Experience leading integrated communications programs for publicly traded corporate and/or technology clients or companies
Demonstrated success in media relations and executive positioning with experience across business, tech, policy, and financial press
Experience in investor relations and financial communications, with exposure to retail investor engagement strategies is preferred
Experience supporting public policy, government affairs, or regulatory communications is highly desirable
Strong understanding of the technology and/or telecommunications landscape is a plus
Exceptional writing, storytelling, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and clients in a fast-paced environment
Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff
Strong business acumen and ability to connect communications strategy to broader organizational goals for clients

Compensation
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $90K-$135K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
