2nd Shift Production Supervisor Chicago

PURPOSE

Provide leadership and direction to production associates in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity. Facilitate and execute the production department's action plans, and implement corrective actions that create long-term solutions to systemic problems. Support operators to ensure the ongoing operation of the facility, performing all tasks in a safe manner to help the team achieve its quality, service, and cost objectives. Support and help develop standard operating procedures and requirements under the company's quality system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Facilitate daily startup, routine production, and changeover processes for assigned lines
Schedule personnel, including training, call-outs, and temporary employees
Coordinate reprocessing activities and maintain related records
Collect and verify the accuracy of downtime worksheets
Update and verify the accuracy of daily production reports
Collect, verify, and file production checklists
Verify production numbers with the warehouse and pack production numbers
Implement the production plan for the shift, and ensure the team follows the current production schedule
Manage indirect material inventory levels to ensure availability for production demands
Follow up with the Quality Control department on hold situations, and help create and implement new procedures to prevent future issues
Manage recovery of non-conforming product delivered to the warehouse, and coordinate rework back into the production run (e.g., missing codes, incorrect coding, defective incidents)
Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements per management's direction
Maintain GMP compliance at all times
Participate in projects as assigned
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
Achieve and/or exceed safety objectives for area of responsibility
Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation
Support the plant's safety initiatives and policies
Perform other duties as assigned

DIMENSIONS

Generally manages production lines within the plant environment.
Coordinates with partners in safety, quality, maintenance, and warehouse.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management, Business Administration or other closely related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years of progressive manufacturing experience, preferably in the food industry.
