Job Summary
Are you a tech wizard who thrives on the intersection of traditional broadcasting and cutting-edge digital infrastructure? Do you love the challenge of keeping a complex network running smoothly while ensuring the magic of television never misses a beat—even from a distance? We’re looking for a Broadcast IT Engineer to join our team at KTTC and KBJR. This isn't just about fixing computers; it’s about owning the digital backbone of our stations and ensuring our content reaches our audience across every platform, from the big screen to the smartphone.

Responsibilities

Architect the network:

Install and maintain the computer systems and network infrastructure that power our daily operations.

Bridge the gap:

Work closely with our engineering team to implement and maintain crossover systems that blend traditional Audio/Video with modern IT infrastructure.

Power the production:

Support and maintain the automation systems that keep our On-Air and Live Production running without a hitch.

Guard the gates:

Aid in the implementation of robust computer and network security policies to keep our data and broadcasts safe.

Keep us current:

Manage software licensing and ensure all systems are updated and optimized for peak performance.

Support the mission:

Act as one of the primary points of contact for corporate IT and help maintain our internal trouble ticket system, supporting everyone from News and Production to Sales.

Go where the action is:

Provide technical assistance for remote broadcasts, ensuring our team can deliver high-quality content from anywhere.

Qualifications

Advanced IT chops:

Deep understanding of VM systems and Windows Active Directory management.

Broadcast brain:

Understanding of how IT integrates with A/V equipment in a broadcast facility.

Problem-solving prowess:

Ability to troubleshoot computers down to the board level and willingness to get hands dirty.

Digital-first mindset:

Recognition that serial and IP communication are lifeblood of media.

Cool under pressure:

Thrive in high-stress situations and able to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Right credentials:

Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field (or higher).

Proven experience:

At least 2 years with Windows OS, e‑mail systems, FTP servers, and TCP/IP networking.

Collaborative spirit:

Team player who can work closely with Chief Engineers, Department Heads, and Corporate IT.
