About Flyover Attractions: Flyover is an award‑winning immersive flying theatre experience that transports guests through the planet’s most epic places. The attraction utilizes flight motion seats engineered to swoop, dip and turn, giving guests a feeling of flight, while a 65‑foot spherical screen provides guests with an unparalleled fight across iconic locations and natural landscapes. Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, create an unforgettable entertainment experience. Flyover attractions are located in Chicago; Las Vegas; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Vancouver, Canada.

About the role: The AV Specialist is responsible for maintaining A/V systems and components throughout the attraction as well as assisting the iRide Specialist with preventative maintenance and repairs. AV Specialists train operators in their duties such as identifying issues, checks, operating AV systems within the attraction, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

The wage for this role is $32 USD hourly, and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

What you’ll do
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all A/V and lighting systems function and are properly maintained at all times

Monitor and ensure guest and staff safety

Perform ride safety checks

Recover ride malfunctions

Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of the iRide system and facilities

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all issues, resolutions and maintenance

Assist, maintain and communicate proper inventory levels for all parts and consumables to the Technical Manager

Train operators on AV systems operation and basic troubleshooting

Support special and seasonal events as required

Maintain excellent working relationships internally and with suppliers

Other duties as needed

DESIRED SKILLS

Demonstrated technical ability and background with an extended understanding of audio, video, lighting, and computer systems

Experience with Medialon, Crestron, or other show control systems and programming

Familiarity with PIXERA, WATCHOUT, Disguise or similar software and multi‑display systems

Maintenance and repair of LED video walls and large format laser projectors

Installation, programming, and maintenance of DMX/Artnet lighting systems and fixtures

Knowledge of Dante or other networked audio systems and software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted

Positions self to service and install equipment which may include bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, or reaching

Frequently moves throughout jobsite and uses stairs

May spend extended periods in stationary positions

Uses ladders and elevated work platforms to complete tasks

Works at height utilizing fall protection equipment

Qualifications

Availability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environments

Ability to lift loads of up to 30 pounds as necessary

Solid knowledge base about Chicago and local area

Experience in the tourism/hospitality industry an asset

Public speaking experience is an asset

Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset
