Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Job Summary
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator supports the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education’s marketing and communications efforts by creating and delivering engaging content that promotes agency programs, services, and initiatives. This role coordinates CareerTech’s social media activities and supports the organization’s overall marketing and communications goals, enhancing the agency’s brand and public awareness.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communication, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related field.
Experience in content creation and storytelling.
Ability to edit and manage social/digital media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Journalism or technical writing skills.
Event photography and editing abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate CareerTech’s social media content and platforms.
Collaborate with agency staff and stakeholders to develop and deliver marketing and communication strategies for agency programs and services.
Create effective copy for websites, social media platforms, videos, and podcasts.
Evaluate communication channels to ensure effective and consistent message communication.
Contribute to marketing plans, campaigns, and system goals.
Assist with web maintenance and publishing tasks as needed.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $45,940.86 – $52,044.49 annually.
Benefits: Health, dental, life, and disability insurance covered by a state allowance of $9,051.60 – $21,942.72 based on selected dependents; state-paid teacher’s retirement pension; flexible benefits plan; vacation leave; 15 days sick leave; 11 paid holidays; employee assistance program; flex‑time work schedule options. Communication Skills
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills while creating engaging social media content and maintaining consistent brand messaging across multiple platforms. Effectively manage online communities by responding to customer inquiries, fostering audience engagement, and building positive relationships with followers. Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to develop compelling content, communicate customer feedback, and support overall marketing and communication objectives.
Licensing and Physical Requirements
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
Position based in Stillwater, OK with frequent in‑state travel. Hiring contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
