Eligibility Requirements
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrollment at least half‑time in a degree, diploma, or certificate‑seeking undergraduate or graduate program.
Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled; in that case the student must be pre‑registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Maintain valid Visa status if applicable. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Students in their first semester may work even without an official GPA. Federal Work Study students may apply. In good disciplinary standing. Must be located in the U.S.
Role Overview
The Camera Operator (Cam Op) supports live performances and presentations on campus as part of a Video Production Crew, utilizing three types of High‑Definition/4K‑UHD video cameras.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at assigned location and time, set up the camera in the appropriate spot, and adjust settings.
- Operate the camera smoothly, including pan, tilt, and zoom speed, while maintaining focus and composing pleasing shots.
- Follow instructions from the assigned Video Director via intercom during recording.
- Support live performance spaces such as Berklee Performance Center, Friend Recital Hall, Berk Recital Hall, The Red Room, Berklee Dining Hall, and other scheduled venues.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Personal schedule management; must report where and when assigned without failure.
- Ability to focus and maintain attention during recording for optimal footage.
- Physical capability to transport, set up, and store video cameras and equipment, including lifting up to 45 pounds for short distances.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $16.45.
