Scripps Media Inc is hiring: Multimedia Journalist, KSTU in Salt Lake City

Join KSTU Fox 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where your storytelling will connect with one of the nation's most rapidly growing communities. As a Multimedia Journalist at our E.W. Scripps-owned station, you'll be at the heart of breaking news and compelling features that matter to Utahns.
Responsibilities Receive assignments or evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideas.
Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research.
Organize materials and write stories according to editorial style and format standards.
Shoot video and still photos to illustrate stories.
Edit or assist in editing videos for all multimedia platforms.
Appear on TV in live or pre-recorded situations.
Work cooperatively with photographers assigned to stories, if one is assigned.
Assist news producer in preparing newscasts.
Assist online staff in preparing for multimedia stories.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience (prefers 3+ years in a related field).
Computer literacy required, including newsroom computer systems.
Videography and non-linear editing experience.
Knowledge of broadcast-quality camera equipment.
Ability to edit video on non-linear systems.
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.
Proficient at posting content to various websites.
Self‑motivated and able to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits.
