Job Summary

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced, highly organized professional, with a managerial and production background in animation, VFX or game development. The Associate Production Director will work with cinematic project producers and related department leaders to ensure successful production of cinematics for the studio. The role is a 12‑month temporary, hybrid work position (some on‑site, some remote) based in Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the cinematic production team and ensure projects run smoothly in partnership with surrounding leadership.
  • Create an inclusive, highly collaborative environment.
  • Partner with cross‑departmental leaders to plan and assign project leadership teams, considering production demands, available talent, team composition, and creative strengths.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key game team personnel, the publishing team, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with outsourcing vendors, negotiate deal terms, and provide oversight to outsourced cinematics.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in game development, film, animation or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in resource planning across multiple projects.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Successful track record of developing and leading teams of 5‑10 people.
  • Expertise in leading teams and guiding outsourcing partners.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Existing knowledge of Blizzard Entertainment games, characters or lore is a plus, but not required.

Pay Range (US)

$124,400–$230,300 annual base salary, depending on experience and location. Incentive compensation may be available.

Location & Work Arrangement

Hybrid: office in Irvine, CA with work‑from‑home component.
