Seeking an experienced wine industry sales professional to join M.A. Silva as a Business Development Manager. This key role involves proactively targeting prospects, generating and following up with leads, and working with the sales team to develop new business within existing accounts. The position is ideally located in Sonoma or Napa County, with frequent travel to other major wine areas across the country.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify and generate new business opportunities
Develop and nurture new and existing customer relationships
Implement a sales plan in collaboration with the National Sales Manager to increase revenue and acquire new accounts
Expand business with current clients by identifying additional needs and presenting solutions
Assist sales team members in maximizing account revenue and profit potential
Accurately report all market activity to M.A. Silva management in a timely manner
Qualifications
"HUNTER" mentality with strong new business and lead generation skills
Comfortable with cold calling and prospecting
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent industry experience
Previous business development or sales experience; wine industry experience preferred
Proven leadership, negotiation, project, and account management skills
Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication; proven presentation skills at all organizational levels
Ability to work independently and as part of various teams and committees
Capacity to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines with flexibility and enthusiasm
