Associate Developer, Footwear (Timberland)
At Timberland, we’re a force of nature, committed to craftsmanship, sustainability, and building community. We’re looking for an Associate Footwear Developer to help turn concepts into production‑ready products.
What you’ll do
Manage assigned color‑up and new upper projects from line start to commercialization, ensuring on‑time, cost‑effective prototypes.
Maintain documentation and product integrity across last, upper, mold, and material development.
Manage sample lifecycles—monitor, track, organize and distribute fit and development samples.
Shadow and collaborate with development, engineering, and overseas manufacturing teams on concept, mold, fit, and last development.
Participate in product‑related meetings (cross‑functional reviews, seasonal materials, tear‑down, fit trials).
Support accurate product‑line management (PLM) data entry and keep SharePoint/OneNote tracking files current.
Attend required VF professional development classes and engage with teams across Costing, Materials, Production, Quality, and more.
Qualifications
1‑3years of footwear development experience with foundation in Fashion Merchandising, Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, handling multiple cross‑functional tasks.
Strong analytic, problem‑solving and quantitative skills.
Self‑directed with collaborative interaction across functions.
Proficient with PC tools and product‑line management preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to organize information for multi‑lingual teams.
Hands‑on footwear‑making interest (Maker Space access).
Travel capability to overseas facilities and trade shows as required.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range:$60,000–$75,000USD annually (subject to local, state, and federal law). The position is eligible for a bonus structure that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission.
