Who You Are
This role blends strategy with purpose. United Therapeutics is preparing to launch a highly anticipated PAH therapy and seeks a Senior Product Manager who thrives in launch energy, enjoys big‑picture thinking and hands‑on execution, and wants their work to contribute to a larger mission.
The Senior Product Manager will manage healthcare professional (HCP) launch initiatives from end to end, turning insights into impactful marketing that reaches the right audience. The position requires a strategic, collaborative mindset and the ability to drive projects forward in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Work independently to manage marketing tactics for an assigned product.
- Lead tactical efforts from conception through dissemination, collaborating with agency and internal partners.
- Assist with annual marketing plans, including brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and HCP tactics.
- Determine and track key performance indicators for owned tactics and initiatives.
- Manage the HCP agency of record and project budgets and timelines.
- Support market research initiatives (quantitative, qualitative, advisory boards) to generate actionable insights.
- Partner with brand lead to manage promotional review board discussions and negotiate solutions for PRB exposure.
- Develop foundational launch assets (visual aids, speaker decks) and collaborate with sales training and leadership for optimal rollout.
- Align with marketing team members responsible for field‑based and digital HCP promotional tactics.
- Attend field ride‑alongs to understand the audience and resource utilization.
- Engage key stakeholders and professional societies to build collaborative relationships.
- Demonstate deep knowledge of disease state, product portfolio, competitors, and payer landscape.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device marketing with a PharmD degree, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree, or 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment, with strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
- Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Seeks to lead initiatives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- 2+ years of experience in product launches in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical device sales.
- 3+ years of experience in respiratory marketing, rare disease, or sales.
- 5 years of experience in HCP marketing.
- 3 years of experience with field promotion or peer‑to‑peer interactions.
Job Location
The role is based in our Durham, NC office and is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in the office. On‑site requirements may increase based on business needs.
