Job Summary
This job involves managing technical programs, focusing on aligning project milestones with product and business requirements. It requires collaboration with senior staff and cross‑functional teams to ensure successful execution. The role emphasizes continuous improvement in engineering processes and effective communication with all stakeholders to achieve program objectives. At this level, you’ll own delivery for one or more teams within a platform area. You’ll facilitate agile ceremonies, manage dependencies, and begin coaching teams on SDLC best practices. You’ll work with moderate guidance and begin contributing to planning and process improvement.

Responsibilities

Understanding the scope of technical programs, participating in milestone planning, and driving alignment to these milestones

Utilizing technical knowledge to research, plan, and achieve objectives through the program team

Collaborating with senior staff to engage cross‑functional core team members for program success

Overseeing project plans from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications

Maintaining program records and overseeing the identification and management of critical path tasks

Driving the development of program goals, objectives, and success criteria, ensuring stakeholder alignment

Recommending improvements to engineering processes to increase efficiency and reduce duplication

Tracking program schedules, managing tasks, and making necessary adjustments to meet objectives

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary

Drive team‑level delivery execution

Facilitate agile ceremonies and backlog refinement

Track and report on team velocity and capacity

Begin identifying and addressing delivery inefficiencies

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Lead delivery across multiple teams or a platform area

Manage cross‑team dependencies and delivery timelines

Coach teams on agile maturity and SDLC optimization

Drive consistency in estimation and tracking practices

Lead quarterly planning sessions with Product and Engineering

Balance capacity across new work, tech debt, and stability

Identify systemic delivery issues and lead resolution efforts

Mentor junior EDMs and team members

Communicate delivery status and trade‑offs to leadership

Align cross‑functional teams on shared goals and timelines

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of Agile frameworks and SDLC practices

Understanding of backlog management and estimation techniques

Familiarity with cross‑functional team dynamics

Skills:

Facilitation of agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, retrospectives)

Basic risk identification and mitigation

Effective use of Jira, Confluence, and planning tools

Abilities:

Manage delivery for one or more teams

Communicate status and risks to stakeholders

Begin coaching teams on delivery best practices

Education
