Overview
The Division of Student Affairs seeks a Manager of Digital Strategy & Brand Engagement to serve as a strategic business partner responsible for the marketing and communication functions across the Business and Financial Operations (BFO) units. The role reports to the Associate Vice President for Business & Financial Operations and will lead integrated marketing strategy for high‑impact units such as Housing Services, Dining Services, Facilities & Space Planning, Conference & Event Services, and Pre‑College Programs.
Core Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and execute both long‑ and short‑term marketing strategies, including campaign management, for BFO units in partnership with department heads.
Create compelling visual and video content that captures CMU student life, ensuring compliance with university brand and accessibility standards.
Develop, schedule, and manage social media content across platforms (e.g., Instagram) and maintain departmental websites and apps to provide accurate, user‑friendly content.
Manage relationships with external partners such as graphic designers and printers and collaborate with internal leadership on major events and promotional campaigns.
Establish and manage KPI metrics using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social listening) to quantify campaign effectiveness, provide actionable insights, and support revenue forecasting.
Oversee the social media content calendar, coordinate visual asset production, and manage e‑mail communication to current and prospective residents.
Maintain and edit website content to reflect accurate policies, rates, and deadlines; write and edit short‑form advertising copy and video scripts for campaigns.
Coordinate and support events, including tabling and informational presentations across BFO units.
Work closely with BFO department heads and university partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with departmental goals.
Skills and Experience
Proficiency with e‑mail marketing platforms and website CMS.
Strong project management and change management skills for leading cross‑functional projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive professional experience in advertising, marketing, or digital communications.
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and using analytics metrics.
Combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge may be considered.
Requirements
Successful pre‑employment background check.
Additional Information
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support special events.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States; CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
Only the 12‑month OPT may be used to work at CMU; STEM OPT benefit not available.
