Role
Front-End Web Developer (1-year contract) supporting UX design, front-end development, and ongoing support for enterprise web applications and websites for NCDOT and NCDMV. The role focuses on building and maintaining accessible, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces, ensuring consistency, accessibility, performance, and integration with enterprise systems.
Contract & Location
1-year contract
Hybrid position, local to Raleigh, NC (Triangle region); on-site attendance may be required for equipment pickup, scheduled meetings, training, and other business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Create, update, and maintain web components, UI prototypes, and front-end application features.
Build user interfaces for enterprise applications, websites, and content management systems.
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent UI standards and design patterns.
Develop and maintain reusable UI components and front-end frameworks.
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, accessibility, and user experience.
Integrate front-end solutions with enterprise systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
Support AI-assisted development and workflow automation initiatives.
Conduct training sessions, demonstrations, and webinars for business users.
Troubleshoot and resolve front-end development, usability, and accessibility issues.
Participate in continuous improvement related to UX design, front-end architecture, and web standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years creating semantic HTML structures and accessibility-focused web solutions.
Minimum 5 years using modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, CSS variables, theming).
Minimum 4 years experience with state management using signals, reactive stores, or similar technologies.
Minimum 4 years integrating applications with SAP, ServiceNow, SharePoint, or similar enterprise platforms.
Minimum 4 years performing website accessibility testing and remediation.
Minimum 3 years developing applications using Vue.js.
Minimum 3 years implementing web performance optimization techniques.
Minimum 3 years applying WCAG 2.2 or higher accessibility standards.
Minimum 1 year utilizing AI-assisted development tools and workflow automation solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Vite or similar modern front-end build tools.
Experience designing and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
Familiarity with content management systems and enterprise web platforms.
Knowledge of modern web deployment and development practices.
Accessibility certifications or WCAG-related training are a plus.
