Job Summary
We’re looking for a talented Graphic Design Specialist who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple teams across the company, the Graphic Design Specialist will convert written or spoken ideas into a design that supports AFL’s business objectives and brand position in the B‑to‑B telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities

Collaborate, brainstorm and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include advertising, presentations, sales collateral, trade‑show graphics, signage, internal communications, newsletters and marketing materials.

Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts, translating strategic direction into high‑quality design within an established brand identity.

Present designs to clients or the marketing team.

Review/Proof designs for errors before printing or publishing them.

Stay current on industry trends, software updates and new design techniques, incorporating new knowledge into design projects as appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years experience in a professional graphic design position

Bachelor’s degree in communication, design, advertising or related experience

Strong design principles

Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge of file preparation for print and digital media

General photography/video skills

General web design skills

All candidates must submit a portfolio of their work
