Position Summary
This position is located in Richmond, VA. A Territory Sales Manager for our Veterinary Sales Team will serve as the face behind our brand as veterinarians consider Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. Pro Plan includes products focused on dietary management for dogs and cats with specific health problems. The role provides a portfolio of formulas backed by scientific research and Purina’s expertise.

Responsibilities

Promote the Pro Plan Veterinary Diet product line.

Grow the Purina Veterinary business using innovative sales and marketing concepts to achieve assigned goals.

Call on existing and potential clients to create targeted, brand‑building sales and marketing programs that drive volume and meet quantitative and qualitative sales goals.

Develop and implement strategic business plans within the assigned geography.

Create a positive Purina experience by providing top‑tier customer service through a consultative selling approach.

Work cross‑functionally with regional teams, distributor channel, and counterparts across the country.

Influence with integrity by identifying each clinic’s business needs and leveraging consumer insights and trends to support recommendations.

Develop and foster business relationships with key decision makers to gain active recommendations of Purina to veterinary clients.

Provide nutritional pet food diet expertise to veterinarians and their staff through clinic calls, product detailing/comparisons, in‑hospital trainings and special events.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.

1+ year of sales experience required.

Other

Valid state driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and required vehicle insurance.

Ability to travel, including overnight stays as needed.

Reliable transportation to manage the assigned territory.

Willingness to relocate or open to relocation for future advancement.

Physical ability to perform frequent bending, reaching below the waist and overhead, lifting items up to 40 lb, and sitting and standing for extended periods. Nestlé provides reasonable accommodations for disabilities and religious practices.

Benefits
The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Nestlé offers performance‑based incentives and a total rewards package that includes a 401(k) with company match, healthcare coverage, and a broad range of other benefits.
