VDC Specialist – Mechanical Plumbing
We are seeking a qualified professional to join our Virtual Design Construction (VDC) team. This role is based at our headquarters in Granite City, IL, and supports the team by creating, managing, and coordinating 3D models and drawings for plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.

Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.

Designing and modeling plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.

Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.

Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.

Supporting the field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.

Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications, and standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in applied science or equivalent experience in CAD drafting, engineering, construction management, or a related field.

1–3 years of plumbing design, VDC, or a related field experience.

Knowledge of IPC, UPC, or other plumbing codes.

Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner.

Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements and team collaboration.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks with consistent attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and capability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in identifying potential risks and developing creative solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
