VDC Specialist - Mechanical Plumbing
Location: Granite City, IL.

We are currently looking for a VDC Specialist to join our VDC team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of experience with plumbing design and fabrication.

Responsibilities

Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.

Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.

Designing and modeling plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.

Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.

Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.

Supporting the field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.

Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications, and standards.

Qualifications

An associate’s degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.

1–3 years of experience in plumbing design, VDC, or a related field.

Knowledge of IPC, UPC, or other plumbing codes.

Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner.

Willingness to travel on an as‑needed basis for project needs and team collaboration.

A strong ability to work within deadline‑driven environments while maintaining consistent attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and capability to work effectively independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in identifying potential problems or risks and developing creative solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000
