VDC Specialist - Mechanical Plumbing

VDC Department Opportunity: VDC Specialist - Mechanical Plumbing
Location: Nashville, TN. Minimum 1 year experience with plumbing design and fabrication. This role supports the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team by creating, managing, and coordinating 3D models and drawings for plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.

Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.

Designing and modeling plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.

Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.

Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.

Supporting field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.

Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications and standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in applied science or equivalent experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in plumbing design, VDC, or a related field.

Knowledge of IPC, UPC or other plumbing codes.

Familiarity with REVIT, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner. Strong computer skills are expected.

Willingness to travel as needed for project needs and team collaboration.

Ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple duties with consistent attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in identifying potential problems or risks and developing creative solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
