The Vernon Township School District is seeking an individual to serve in a stipend position responsible for supporting the district's Public Relations (PR) and Communications efforts. This role is intended to strengthen communication, highlight district successes, and engage the community in positive ways.

Responsibilities

Promoting Vernon Township School District through social media and other communication channels.

Preparing and distributing press releases and articles to local newspapers and media outlets.

Highlighting student, staff, and district achievements to showcase Vernon's successes.

Attending major district events (or coordinating coverage) to ensure they are publicized.

Collaborating with administrators to collect content; other administrators may provide photos, and the PR stipend recipient will create polished social media posts.

Coordinating with district leadership to maintain consistent branding and positive messaging.

Serving as a point of contact for community communication and district public relations efforts.

Requirements

Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.

Familiarity with public relations, communications, journalism, or social media management.

Ability to collaborate effectively with district administration and community stakeholders.

Flexible availability to attend or cover district events as needed.

Important Note
Candidates must be available throughout the school day and for designated after-hours events as assigned.

Compensation
The stipend for this position will range from $7,000 to $9,000, commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
