Program Coordinator Job Description
Classification:
Non‑exempt, Part Time (10 - 15 hours per week)
Reports to:
Executive Director
Qualifications:
Extensive work experience with an emphasis on marketing and outreach in a nonprofit environment. Comfortable with technology, graphic design, and a variety of modern marketing tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with in‑person outreach, community education and public presentations. Motivated self‑starter who thinks outside of the box and understands the intricacies and challenges of local demographics. Willing to work both remotely and on site and can travel throughout Sandoval and Valencia Counties.
Preferred Skills:
Community organizing; public speaking; graphic design; website design; event planning; diversity, equity and inclusion experience; organizational skills; ability to manage multiple responsibilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; Spanish fluency; experience working in nonprofit organizations.
Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and outreach strategies that build awareness, engage the community, and recruit volunteers in Sandoval and Valencia Counties. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to: development of an outreach and marketing plan, design of marketing collateral, social media postings, website management and SEO, volunteer recruitment, public relations and general communications for the organization.
Job Responsibilities – Primary
Development of an Outreach Plan:
Social media posts
Website management
Community outreach and education
Content and Collateral Creation:
Creation of marketing materials such as business cards, pamphlets, flyers and banners that conform to National CASA/GAL Association for Children standards
Creation of social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms as needed
Maintain website design and content that changes on a regular basis
Creation of short promotional videos
Public/Donor Relations:
Coordinate with donors to publicize their donations via posts and/or videos
Ensure all individual donors are personally and adequately thanked (coordinate with Executive Director)
Maintain and update email lists for donors, volunteers and other partners
Community Outreach and Collaboration:
Assist other staff members with communications and documentation related to events, training, and community resources
Assist with planning and coordination of program events (e.g. back‑to‑school shopping event, CASA Closet, Fun Day and Volunteer Appreciation)
Support marketing campaigns and public awareness initiatives
Networking and Recruitment:
Attend networking events and meetings and present information about CASA as needed
Attend community events for outreach and recruitment purposes
Actively pursue recruitment opportunities
Assist in organizing and preparing for volunteer training and orientations
Job Responsibilities – Secondary
Provide needed support to other staff members as needed
Entering data and pleadings into the Optima database
Maintain and update hearing schedules and inform volunteers
