Director of Music Ministries

Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located in Defiance, Ohio, is seeking a Director of Music Ministries.

Saint John’s Parish Community is a loving, caring, supportive community. The people of our parish are faith‑filled, and love to sing.

Our parish has a well‑established Music program, consisting of an Adult Choir, Youth Choir, and seasonal Children’s Christmas Choir. Our existing music ministry is strong, and a new candidate could easily walk in and maintain or build upon what we already have in place. We have an excellent piano and organ. This position will include overseeing the music program, as well as playing for weddings and funerals.

The ideal applicant will possess keyboard proficiency, choral directing skills, as well as a desire to continue the Congregation’s desire to sing. We seek someone who has the ability to organize, plan, teach, lead and inspire. Although we desire this to be a full‑time position, the position could be part time or full time, depending on the needs and desires of the candidate. Salary will be commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
