The Director of Marketing serves as the strategic architect and revenue catalyst for the Memorial Stadium transformation, leading integrated marketing initiatives that drive premium seating sales, season ticket revenue, and donor engagement. This role blends strategic vision with tactical execution—building data-driven go-to-market programs and high-impact digital and traditional campaigns that convert prospects into buyers. Nebraska Athletics is undertaking a $600 million renovation of the iconic Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska, one of college sports' most ambitious modernization initiatives. Legends Global has been selected as the strategic partner to maximize this historic investment—redefining the fan experience for one of college football's most passionate fanbases while establishing new revenue benchmarks for collegiate venues. This role contributes directly to that transformational moment, partnering with Nebraska Athletics and internal Legends stakeholders to deliver premium seating, hospitality, and long-term revenue outcomes.
Revenue Marketing & Go-To-Market Strategy
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for premium seating products and season ticket packages, with direct accountability for generating qualified leads and driving conversion.
Lead campaign planning and timeline management to support aggressive revenue targets across all ticketed sports and premium hospitality offerings.
Design lead generation strategies across digital and traditional channels, moving prospects through the sales funnel and ensuring seamless lead handoff to sales.
Establish and monitor performance metrics—cost per lead, conversion rates, and ROI—and optimize marketing spend based on performance data.
Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution
Oversee email marketing campaigns end to end, including audience targeting, segmentation, content strategy, and performance analysis.
Lead digital advertising across paid search, social, programmatic display, and video to drive awareness and lead generation.
Execute A/B testing and content strategies that improve campaign performance and tell compelling stories about Nebraska Athletics and the stadium transformation.
Manage the marketing technology stack, including email platforms, CRM integration, analytics tools, and ticketing system interfaces.
Donor Relations & Collegiate Messaging
Craft messaging that honors Nebraska's tradition, multi-generational donor culture, and the emotional connection fans have with Husker athletics.
Develop donor communication and cultivation programs that recognize giving levels, celebrate loyalty, and create pathways to premium seating and hospitality.
Create differentiated messaging for distinct donor segments and partner with the Nebraska Athletics advancement team to complement broader fundraising strategies.
Traditional Marketing & Brand Integration
Execute paid media across television, radio, print, outdoor, and other channels to maximize reach and frequency with target audiences.
Oversee media partner negotiations, trade agreements, and asset management to optimize media value, and direct creative to ensure brand consistency.
Integrate sponsor activations and partner initiatives, and coordinate with venue operations and game-day teams so marketing promises align with on-site delivery.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Performance
Serve as primary marketing liaison to Nebraska Athletics leadership, Legends Global senior management, and external stakeholders.
Lead cross-functional teams—creative, digital, media, and analytics—and manage agency and vendor relationships to deliver integrated campaigns on time and on budget.
Establish weekly and monthly reporting frameworks tracking lead volume, quality, conversion, and revenue attribution, and present results and ROI analysis to senior leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field required. Five–seven years of progressive marketing experience with demonstrated success in revenue-generating roles. Experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or live entertainment preferred; venue transformations or premium seating launches highly valued. Expert proficiency in marketing automation and email platforms, with advanced segmentation and deliverability knowledge. Strong digital advertising capabilities across search, social, and programmatic, plus analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Working knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and ticketing platforms, with competency in Adobe Creative Suite and advanced Microsoft Office skills. Strong business acumen connecting marketing activity to revenue outcomes, with proven funnel and conversion-rate optimization experience. Exceptional written and verbal communication and executive presentation skills, with strong project management and budget oversight.

Travel and schedule flexibility are required based on business needs, stakeholder meetings, project milestones, and event-related demands, including non-traditional hours and game days.
