Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Automation & Switching: Execute on-air, live broadcasts by switching and coding via the Evertz MediatorX.
Technical Operations: Utilize SSL Audio Console for live audio mixing. Operate light board and robotic cameras for floor managing. Route LiveU, network and satellite live-shots. Join Zoom meetings and record clips in BitCentral
Live Coverage: Manage technical needs for both live, streaming and pre-recorded programming.
Studio Maintenance: Handle physical studio needs including lighting adjustments and floor managing live newscasts.
Flexibility: Cover vacation and sick leave shifts as assigned to ensure continuous broadcast operations.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience at a broadcast television station.
Technical Skills: Experience mixing sound for live news and a deep understanding of broadcast automation.
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Attributes: Ability to handle multiple tasks under high pressure while maintaining a collaborative, team-first approach to all assignments.
Physical Requirements
Lifting & Moving: Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment or studio flooring materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Technical Mobility: Ability to climb ladders and reach overhead to adjust studio lighting and equipment.
Extended Shifts: Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for the duration of a live broadcast, often 3 to 5 hours at a time.
Sensory Acuity: Must have excellent hearing for audio mixing and clear vision for monitoring multiple video feeds and color-coding.
Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours; early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays are required. KTBC operates 24/7/365.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $24.00-25.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
