We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing medical claims, verifying patient insurance coverage, submitting accurate billing information, following up on unpaid claims, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance policies, and reimbursement processes.


Key Responsibilities


* Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims to insurance providers and government payers.

* Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and coverage before services are rendered.

* Review patient records to ensure billing information is complete, accurate, and compliant with industry standards.

* Assign and verify appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes when applicable.

* Monitor claim status, investigate denials, correct billing errors, and submit appeals when necessary.

* Process payments, post insurance reimbursements, and reconcile patient accounts.

* Generate patient invoices and respond to billing inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

* Maintain accurate billing records while ensuring confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

* Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies.

* Prepare financial reports related to billing performance, outstanding claims, and collections.

* Stay current with healthcare billing regulations, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement policies.


Required Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing, or a related field is preferred.

* Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle management, or medical office administration preferred.

* Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

* Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and electronic claims processing.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

* Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or medical billing software.

* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Skills


* Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or similar certification is a plus.

* Experience with revenue cycle management and accounts receivable.

* Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy regulations.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
