Footwear Materials Developer

Location: Beaverton, Oregon (Hybrid. Onsite Monday-Thursdays, can work remotely from home on Fridays)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Footwear Materials Developer for a contract position. This role will support work that includes interfacing with vendors, driving processes, and collaborating with product creation teams on running footwear. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating direction to materials partners and translating design intent to match vendor capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Interface with vendors and drive material development processes.
Collaborate with product creation teams focused on running footwear.
Communicate design and development direction to materials partners in Asia.
Align design intent with vendor capabilities to ensure product success.
Manage project timelines and adhere to critical deadlines.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of experience is required in materials development, product development, or a similar field. Footwear industry experience is highly ideal, but apparel experience may be considered.
Skills: Candidates must have experience in the materials and product creation process. This role requires a collaborative, self-sufficient individual who can adhere to deadlines and manage project timelines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working directly with a material manufacturer.
Specific product development experience in the footwear category.
