Description
We are seeking a senior editor to lead a team of reporters covering the business, risk, and strategic priorities of corporate legal departments—particularly within highly regulated industries such as financial services, technology, life sciences and energy. This role is central to our mission of delivering strategic intelligence to in‑house counsel, legal operations leaders and their teams navigating complex regulatory and geopolitical environments.

The ideal candidate is an externally facing leader who thrives on building market relationships, spotting emerging themes before they hit the mainstream, and shaping coverage that helps corporate legal leaders make smarter decisions. You will guide reporters in producing high‑value insights, data‑driven analysis and forward‑looking reporting that strengthens our position as the industry’s most trusted intelligence partner.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of US reporters

focused on the business operations, risk posture, and strategic priorities of corporate legal departments.

Serve as an external ambassador

for our platform—cultivating relationships with general counsel, legal operations executives, law firm leaders, consultants, and industry groups.

Guide reporters in producing high‑impact content , including breaking intelligence, enterprise features, data‑driven analysis, and investigative pieces.

Collaborate with product, data and events teams

to translate reporting into actionable intelligence tools, presentations and market insights.

Represent the organization at industry conferences , moderate panels and be a subject‑matter expert around what you hear from in‑house counsel.

Ensure editorial excellence , clarity and strategic relevance across all coverage.

Drive a culture of sourcing and market engagement , ensuring reporters build deep, ongoing relationships with industry stakeholders.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Demonstrated experience

editing or leading reporters

in a business, legal, regulatory or risk‑focused environment.

Strong understanding of how corporate legal departments operate—and how they interact with finance, compliance, technology and the broader enterprise.

Proven ability to

cultivate and maintain senior‑level sources

across the legal and corporate ecosystem.

Exceptional editorial judgment, with the ability to connect dots across regulation, litigation, geopolitics, technology and corporate strategy.

Strong communication and interviewing skills, including comfort moderating panels or conducting public‑facing conversations with executives.

Ability to thrive in a

fast‑paced, intelligence‑driven environment

where speed and depth both matter.

Experience in legal industry coverage, corporate governance, or risk reporting is a significant plus.

Must be highly organized, collaborative and able to guide reporters through both quick‑turn and long‑form work.

At least 4–6 years of relevant editorial or reporting experience preferred.

Willingness to travel for industry events, source meetings and market engagement.
