This is an entry level position at Hearts & Science Puerto Rico. Primary responsibility is to learn media math, broadcast and non-broadcast functions, vendor offerings/personnel, and various computer and system applications (both maintenance and research).
Position requires development of negotiation and planning skills and understanding of client needs and corporate trade business model. The Negotiator is responsible for the overall execution and management of media efforts for assigned clients including, but not limited to, planning, negotiating, ratings estimates, relationship development and mentoring support staff (Assistant/Associate/Junior Negotiators). Also, the Negotiator stewards assigned client placements as needed. Duties will be supervised by and Associate Business Director.
Job Responsibilities:
Input and steward client schedules (buying) – including season-to-dates and post-analyses
Coordinate billing discrepancy resolution with vendors and finance
Develop and maintain quarterly flighting chart for brands responsible for
Monitor program content screenings, do not air lists, time locks and day restrictions
Develop quarterly post buy analysis
Assist in creating client presentations
Strategy and planning
Collaborate, develop and/or lead media planning for assigned brands, depending on the level of experience and team assignments.
Negotiation:
Assure that all buys for their accounts deliver the media strategy and investment specification
Collaborate to ensure the negotiation strategy is sound, that the KPI parameters projections are accurate
Maintain accurate records of buys, budgets, revisions, credits, etc.
Manage and monitor clearance of discrepancies and accounting functions for their particular accounts on a timely basis
Implementation:
Buying and optimization of assigned clients’ digital and non-digital campaigns, including but not limited to: TV, OOH, Radio, Social Media, Display, Video, Search, etc.
Monitor achieved KPIs and recommend optimizations as needed (i.e. creative updates, budget changes, etc).
Develop post buy analysis as needed (quarterly or by initiative depending on clients’ needs).
Monitor communication tools (i.e. Basecamp, Whatsapp, etc) to stay ahead of any requests. Responsible for providing fast and accurate response to any requests received thru these tools.
Media Expertise:
Keep abreast of industry trends that may impact a client’s business
Utilize and stay familiar with most current research tools
Keep up to date on computer functions and upgrades as they become available
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration or Communications
1-3 years of experience in media buying and negotiating media buys (desirable).
Excellent verbal and communication skills

Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure
Basic media math knowledge
