Vessel Closure Regional Sales Director – Cleveland, Ohio
This field‑based role reports to the Area Vice President within Abbott’s Vascular division. The Regional Sales Director must meet or exceed sales and profitability objectives across the Vessel Closure portfolio, leading a team of Account Managers and Clinical Specialists and driving growth through effective strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for the complete Vessel Closure portfolio, including small and large bore arterial, venous, and future product releases.
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure teams deliver business results through coaching, motivation, and performance management.
- Drive contracting efforts to secure favorable positions in accounts.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to identify and evaluate market opportunities and sales potential.
- Align commercial sales strategy with the marketing strategy for best‑in‑class execution.
- Manage customer relationships through targeting, onboarding, contracting, clinical support, pricing management, KOL management, and conflict resolution.
- Plan, forecast, manage expenses, report on sales processes, and engage with Sales Analytics.
- Maintain adherence to company sales management and reporting systems.
- Measure and report feedback on sales strategies and marketing program effectiveness.
- Identify and pursue account and user sales target pipelines to meet revenue or productivity goals.
- Organize regular performance review meetings and develop individual plans for each team member.
- Ensure all direct reports meet product knowledge, sales, and presentation skill requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company values, ethics, legal obligations, and corporate/divisional policies.
- Promote a diverse workplace enabling all participants to contribute to their full potential.
- Keep the company informed of market dynamics and competitive activity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5–7+ years of related experience.
- Ability to travel 50% within the assigned region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in sales management within the medical device industry.
Compensation
Base pay range: $113,300.00 – $226,700.00 (may vary by location).
