Role Summary / Purpose

Synchrony's Digital Apply, Buy, Servicing & Collections products are used by 1B+ visitors annually and are the virtual face of the brands we support. Synchrony is seeking an experienced Digital Product Owner to lead the development and implementation of new features and capabilities into the digital buy channel.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversight and leadership of the wing-to-wing feature development cycle including build, test, launch, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (Product Management, TechOps, Legal, Compliance, and Credit) to identify, develop and prioritize new product features and the pathway to market delivery.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in PI planning events, ensuring features are groomed and the team has clear direction on priorities/objectives.
  • Lead projects in Scaled Agile development methodologies, define story acceptance criteria, manage and prioritize the team backlog, collaborate with the Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, System Architects, developers and other subject matter experts and contribute to the overall team vision and roadmap.
  • Work with system architect/engineering to understand Enabler work.
  • Lead product demos and Inspect and Adapt activities.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with internal stakeholders, and ensure features are signed-off by Business and Legal/Compliance teams as required.
  • Work with internal and external UX and UI partners to create screen prototypes/wireframes, gather feedback and adjust to optimize performance.
  • Ensure all builds and developments adhere to and meet ADA standards and requirements.
  • Provide updates to Senior Leaders and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal and external groups to gather market intelligence and user VOC and translate the results into detailed product requirements.
  • Partner with Digital Analytics team to monitor post-release customer/client feedback, analyze and resolve any identified issues.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of a degree; high school diploma/GED and 6+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in Digital or Marketing disciplines.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master, in a Product Owner role.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.

Desired Characteristics

  • 2+ years of experience managing front end digital products and/or platforms.
  • Agile Product Owner (CSPO) or Scrum Master (CSM) or comparable certification.
  • Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross‑functional and virtual environment.
  • High energy, self‑motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Product Management and / or Business Analyst experience.
  • Passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
  • Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions.
  • Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of mobile devices and applications.
  • Consumer finance and/or retail marketing experience with an understanding of core financial drivers.

Grade 11

Compensation

The salary range for this position is 90,000 - 155,000 USD annually and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process.
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
