Position Summary
Western, Florida Medicare Advantage Plan, Broker Managers are accountable for driving and achieving company defined distribution channel sales goals and objectives in their FL submarkets (Pinellas, Hernando & Citrus County). They are responsible for recruiting, training and engaging Agent/Brokers in delivering the highest margin and most competitive HMO, CSNP, DSNP, PPO & HMO-POS business in the country. Broker Managers are required to build and enhance strong Agency relationships with all contracting levels to successfully deliver very aggressive sales goals in the fall for 2026 & 2027 (AEP) Annual Enrollment Period. In Florida, Broker Managers deliver 60% of all MA sales through their External Broker sales channels and are vital to achieving Florida’s overall sales goals. Broker Managers are expected to deliver an Annual sales quota between 3,000-4,000 sales through relationship building, agent recruitment and trainings.
Fundamental Components / Job Description
- Prospects for and recruits new agents through collaboration with National and Direct agency relationships or through agent marketing activities targeted direct to the agents. Assures appropriate market coverage through management of agent recruiting activities. Responsible for identifying and developing local preferred agents to support the attainment of health plan goals.
- Onboards new agents by supporting their navigation of contracting, certification, and training requirements. Provides leadership for all broker training, recertification, and testing through face‑to‑face, individual, and group meetings and web‑based resources. Administers broker testing and recertification.
- Proactively develops agent activation using a variety of tactics such as face‑to‑face, telephonic, and written communication methods and information management.
- Manages ongoing individual agent performance. Sets production goals and compliance thresholds, communicates and enforces these expectations, prioritizes broker relationships based on performance, and recommends preferred designation and contract level status.
- Ensures agent adherence to all CMS and Aetna guidelines. Monitors compliance with state, federal, and health plan regulatory requirements. Maintains broker contracting files, reports implementations and corrections, coordinates response to broker‑related complaints, investigates documentation and retrains brokers as necessary, and recommends termination of broker relationships when appropriate.
- Coordinates with appropriate customer service and health plan resources to support broker activities.
- Verifies and validates broker commission payments, ensures payment submission, and resolves commission inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Must live in the Western, Tampa Florida Sub‑markets (Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, Hernando, Citrus County Regions)
- Appropriate FL State licensure to sell insurance as required, subject to products sold.
- Medicare Advantage Plan, Sales Management experience is required.
- Minimum 5 years sales and/or broker sales experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior history of Medicare Advantage Plan and Part D Plans (MAPD) Agent/Broker Sales and/or Sales Management background.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus.

Education
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Appropriate state licensure to sell insurance as required, subject to product sold.
Working Hours and Compensation
- Anticipated weekly hours: 40
- Time type: Full time
- Pay range: $60,400.00 – $126,582.00 (base salary)
