Join a growing transmission engineering team delivering complex overhead transmission line projects across California. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Transmission Engineer with strong technical expertise in high-voltage transmission design, EPC project support, and leadership capabilities to help drive major utility infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and execution of overhead transmission line projects ranging from 66kV to 765kV
- Perform and oversee:
- PLS-CADD modeling
- Line routing and profile development
- Sag‑tension calculations
- Structure spotting
- Clearance analysis
- Wire blowout and swing angle studies
- Structure loading trees and analysis
- Hardware selection and damper recommendations
- Develop transmission line design criteria and engineering calculations
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineering staff
- Interface directly with utility clients and project stakeholders
- Support quality reviews and technical leadership across projects
- Contribute to the continued growth of the California transmission team
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
- Minimum 3+ years of overhead transmission line engineering experience
- Experience designing high‑voltage transmission lines (69kV–500kV preferred; up to 765kV highly valued)
- Proficiency with:
- PLS-CADD
- PLS-POLE
- PLS-TOWER
- AutoCAD
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
- PE License strongly preferred
- California PE highly preferred
- PMP certification is a plus
- EPC project experience preferred
- Experience leading technical teams and performing quality reviews
