About the Organization
The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. It works across issues such as voting rights, campaign finance reform, mass incarceration, and constitutional protections in national security policies.

Location and Type
This is an in‑person internship located in the New York office.

Eligibility
Undergraduate students for Fall2026 only.

Internship Details
Hours: Approximately 10–20 hours per week. Pay: $18.40 per hour. Duration: September–December2026.

Responsibilities

Assist with general research and administrative work for the Brennan Center, including coordinating meetings and drafting routine correspondence.

Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations on program work.

Assist with creating video assets for Brennan Center’s digital platforms.

Assist with video shoots, including set up and filming using cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.

Support media management by ingesting and organizing video footage.

Research and gather video elements, including sourcing footage, stills, and music.

Support the team with video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Monitor and research latest social media trends to inform video strategy and publication.

Work in a fast‑paced environment, follow video production schedules, and ensure deadlines are met.

Collaborate with various team members on projects and readily receive, track, and apply feedback.

Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is beneficial, though not required.

Qualifications
Independent self‑starters who are friendly, cheerful, energetic, punctual, resourceful, positive, detail‑oriented, and highly organized. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, a strong visual vocabulary, and a passion for our issues are essential. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) is required; experience with Zoom, Dropbox, Slack, Eventbrite, Canva, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is preferred.
