Territory: Washington, Oregon, Western Idaho, Northern California, Alaska. This job is based in Portland, Oregon; remote work within the territory, near a major metropolitan airport, is considered.
Compensation: Targeted total package (Base, Commissions, Bonus) $325,000 - $350,000, with potential to exceed based on experience and performance. Includes a generous 401(k) program; Arthrex contributes to a non-qualified retirement plan after one year of employment.
Main Objective
Ensures maximized revenue growth of assigned company products and services through direct and indirect management of an independent sales force and dotted line management of regional managers in the defined geographic area. Establishes effective communications across staff to ensure sensitivity to sales needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manages an assigned group of agencies and related geography to maximize product sales revenues and meet corporate objectives:
- Assists in formulating and distributing regional quotas to agencies.
- Develops and monitors specific plans and company strategy to ensure revenue growth in all company products and categories.
- Directs and supports account management activities.
- Establishes relationships with key accounts and customers, both surgeons and administrators.
- Attends and supports local, regional, and national medical education meetings, trade shows, and other educational opportunities.
- Manages and develops independent agency sales teams: oversees personnel activities (hire, train, coach, appraise, reward, motivate, discipline, recommend termination as necessary).
- Educates sales staff in product knowledge, sales tactics, and training.
- Ensures corporate initiatives are carried out with agency owners and salespeople.
- Establishes and manages effective programs and training to address:
- New and existing account sales and growth via the sales force.
- Sales of new and existing highlight products and multi-product sales.
- Pro-active competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns.
- Proper use and level of sales support.
- Management of area expenses to a reasonable level.
- Business and financial issues on contracts.
- Performs sales activities on key accounts and negotiates pricing and contracts through the Senior Director of Sales where necessary.
- Works closely with regional managers in Sports, Extremity & Trauma, Orthobiologics, Arthroplasty, and Imaging & Resection to ensure proper focus and effort toward sales expectations.
- Ensures compliance across responsibilities and supports the organization’s compliance objectives.
- Up to 75% travel is required.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years of sales or sales management in arthroscopy, sports medicine, or orthopedics; OR a minimum of 3 years of direct Arthrex regional sales management experience; OR a minimum of 3 years with an Arthrex Agency.

- Knowledge of company products, pricing practices, and selling skills.
- Effective management skills with ability to manage company sales operations.
- Effective time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organization skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal communication.
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
Machine, Tools, And/or Equipment Skills
Microsoft Office, PC/Apple, and various software languages; Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
