Our Mission:
Bishop Lifting Products, Inc. is the most trusted name in the lifting world. It has the deep expertise, services, and support to solve both routine and complex lifting challenges. We have the above and below-the-hook inventory customers need when they need it. And we have a culture of service and support that puts customer satisfaction first.
Position Summary
Bishop Lifting is the leading distribution and service platform in the lifting and rigging industry, growing rapidly through acquisition across a national branch network. As the company scales, clear and consistent internal communication is mission-critical to keeping every branch and team aligned, informed, and engaged.
The Manager, Communications owns all internal communications across the Bishop network. This person partners with leaders company-wide to collect, prioritize, create, distribute, and measure the messages that keep our growing workforce connected to strategy, operations, and culture. It is a hands-on, high-output role for a builder — a strong writer and producer who is equally comfortable setting strategy and shipping the work. Initially an individual-contributor position, it offers the opportunity to shape and grow the internal communications function as the platform expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Internal Communications — Serve as the central owner for all internal messaging across Bishop Lifting. Work with business leaders to collect, prioritize, create, distribute, and track communications throughout the network, maintaining a unified sender identity and a forward-looking editorial calendar.
- Communicate Across Every Channel — Leverage a wide range of channels to reach a geographically distributed workforce — including but not limited to memos, emails, newsletters, an internal social app, text messages, digital video boards, field huddles, video, intranet, and the task-management app.
- Create Compelling Content — Write clear, on-brand internal business copy and produce and edit video that informs, aligns, and motivates employees across corporate and field environments.
- Drive Engagement — Define the metrics that matter, measure reach and engagement of internal messaging, and recommend and implement ways to continuously increase it.
- Scale with AI — Leverage AI toolset(s) to scale and automate communication efforts — accelerating content creation, distribution, and measurement without sacrificing quality or brand voice.
- Build the Function — Establish the infrastructure, intake processes, and standards that allow internal communications to scale alongside the network — laying the groundwork to grow the team over time.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in internal, corporate, or employee communications.
- Proven internal business copywriting skill — a portfolio of clear, persuasive, audience-appropriate writing.
- Hands-on video production and editing capability.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
- Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to scale and automate communications work.
- Based in the DFW or Houston area — preferred but not required.
- Able to travel 10–25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field — preferred, not required. Equivalent experience is valued over a credential.
- Experience communicating to a distributed, multi-site, or field-based workforce.
- Background in industrial distribution, services, or a private-equity-backed, acquisition-driven (roll-up) company.
- Experience standing up newsletters, intranets, digital signage, or internal social platforms from the ground up.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, Power Automate, and modern email-design tools.
What Success Looks Like
- Leaders trust a single, reliable channel to reach the network — and use it.
- Employees across every branch know what’s happening, why it matters, and what’s expected of them.
- Engagement with internal communications is measured, understood, and trending up.
- Communications keep pace with the network as it grows — powered by repeatable process and smart use of AI.
