Associate or Senior Editor, Nature Communications (Human Behaviour)

Associate/Senior Editor – Human Behaviour, Nature Communications Location: New York, Jersey City, Philadelphia, Berlin, Shanghai, Pune, Delhi. Open until July10,2026. Position: Permanent.
Responsibilities Handle original research papers, working closely with other editors on manuscript selection and peer review.
Make well‑reasoned editorial decisions in light of expert advice.
Determine representation of their subject area in the journal.
Liaise extensively with editors at other Nature family journals and with international experts.
Attend conferences and visit research institutions.
Commission and edit reviews, and write editorials.
Travel as needed to meet scientists worldwide.
Qualifications PhD in quantitative social sciences, computational science or related field.
Experience with mathematical/computational modelling and simulations (preferred).
Significant research experience, and thorough understanding of recent trends in the field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English.
Strong ability to read, assess novelty, context and implications of research.
Passion for science and eagerness to learn broadly.
Editorial experience not required; encouraged for Senior Editor consideration.
