Welcome to Chinatown is proud to host its Annual Hungry Ghost Festival Theater in Manhattan Chinatown. Inspired by holiday traditions from Hong Kong, Southern China, and Taiwan, we are bringing these celebrations to the neighborhood.
We are bringing back Chinatown’s very own Cantonese Opera team for performances.
We are seeking AAPI musicians, performers, singers, and other artists to bridge the old and new traditions for this event. Candidates should bring East Asian culture into their work through language, musical instruments, or thematic elements.
Responsibilities
Perform as a musician, vocalist, or supporting performer at the festival on August 22.
Collaborate with other performers to create a family‑friendly program.
Requirements
Must be available in person on August 22.
Preferred background of Asian descent.
Performances should be family‑friendly.
