Our client is seeking an experienced Communication Manager to join their communications team on a contract basis through the end of 2026. This is an execution-focused communications role supporting an established communications department with a backlog of projects and ongoing deliverables. Strategic direction will be provided by leadership, allowing this individual to focus on producing high-quality content, managing projects, and keeping communications initiatives moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong communications professional who enjoys writing, editing, managing multiple priorities, and working collaboratively across an organization.
You Will
Write and edit articles, newsletters, website content, email communications, executive messaging, video scripts, and other communications materials
Execute communication initiatives based on priorities established by department leadership
Manage production schedules and coordinate recurring communication deliverables to ensure deadlines are met
Update and maintain website content using WordPress
Edit and proofread communications to ensure consistency with AP Style, branding, and organizational standards
Coordinate communication resources including digital campaigns, printed materials, presentations, social media content, and marketing collateral
Assist with executive communications, media relations, annual meeting materials, and organizational messaging
Support social media content planning and implementation alongside internal communications staff
Partner with internal departments to gather information, develop messaging, and deliver communications projects
Recommend process improvements and communication best practices to improve efficiency
You Have
5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, corporate communications, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong knowledge of AP Style
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and WordPress
Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp and survey tools is preferred
Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is helpful
Strong organizational, project management, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with leadership and internal stakeholders
Logistics
Start Date/Duration: ASAP as contractor for 2-3 months and possibly ongoing through 2026
Onsite/Offsite: Hybrid. Approximately 3 days/week onsite in Carmel, Indiana. Tuesdays are required, with flexibility on the remaining onsite days.
