Role Summary
The Sales & Community Marketing Manager is a subject matter expert in Alaska regional and community dynamics to successfully position Alaska Airlines in the area. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions on day‑to‑day management of commercial agreements and corporate sales, drive new business and provide recommendations to address local business and community presence and involvement.
Key Duties
Effectively negotiates corporate contracts, maximizing return to Alaska Airlines while demonstrating the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
Prepares and implements regional sales plans in alignment with corporate sales objectives, ensuring Alaska Airlines is well‑positioned to succeed.
Plans and executes the regional community marketing plan in alignment with the overall state plan, including representing Alaska Airlines in person at multiple community events throughout the region.
Maintains expertise in Alaska Airlines’ small business booking tool, Atmos for Business.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to grow the portfolio of customers.
Establishes and manages long‑term relationships with new and existing accounts that build on ongoing strategies in the marketplace.
Responds to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and commercial opportunities in a timely and professional manner to win the business.
Effectively manages and organizes time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost‑effective rate for Alaska Airlines.
Serves as the subject matter expert on the community environment in Alaska and addresses the impacts of changes to schedules and fares on the company’s reputation and demand management.
Prepares and presents a monthly performance dashboard outlining Interior & Arctic Alaska performance compared to established goals.
Job‑Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
4 years of experience in outside sales, or in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced, consultative sales or community engagement environment.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Proven ability to work in an analytical, fact‑based sales and account management environment.
Demonstrated flexibility and a creative, results‑oriented approach to achieving business objectives.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a sales team while thriving in a dynamic, evolving market environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Corporate sales with airline sales applications.
Background and experience in the structuring and effective management of corporate and agency incentive share agreements.
Prior exposure to and use of travel industry data reporting sources such as ARC and PRISM.

Salary Range
$99,850 – $149,800 / year
