Montana Forest Consultants (MFC) is the largest forestry consulting firm in Montana, specializing in practical, science-driven forest management across private, state, federal, and local government lands. We are a small company growing with the demand for forest management solutions in Montana. In June 2026, we are adding a firewood processing operation to our portfolio. Our team works on a wide range of projects—from reforestation and wildfire recovery, inventory, forest management planning, harvest and thinning layout, prescribed fire, project administration and supervision, and beyond. We are committed to responsible resource management, landowner service, and building resilient working forests across the Northern Rockies.
This role
MFC’s Sales and Marketing Manager will manage sales, marketing, and external communications efforts across all company divisions. Development and maintenance of a new sales pipeline for the firewood processing facility will be a focal priority, while also delivering sales and marketing results across MFC’s other service areas.
The Sales and Marketing Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt position that reports to the Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Company Wide Sales & Marketing
Develop and execute statewide MFC sales and marketing campaigns, which could include product launches, outreach actions, publicity campaigns, marketing tactics, and advertising strategies to generate product sales and acquire new clients.
Develop and execute Flathead-branch specific MFC sales and marketing campaigns.
Identify opportunities for sales and marketing improvements and new service offerings.
Develop marketing and communications content, such as promotional videos, social media posts, and more.
Represent MFC at industry and public-facing events.
Support MFC team members in pitching prospective clients.
Firewood Processing Facility Sales & Marketing
Develop, maintain, and expand MFC’s firewood facility sales pipeline.
Source and implement an e-commerce platform and processes that will streamline inventory, POS interactions, and account tracking for the firewood facility.
Create and monitor sales benchmarks and marketing budget.
Establish and expand corporate and regional firewood sales relationships and contracts.
Ensure customer satisfaction, including responding to and managing customer concerns.
External Communications
Develop and oversee the execution of external communications plans and marketing campaigns employing a full range of communications tools, including traditional and social media, message development and testing, web content, and advertising.
Create, edit, and distribute compelling company content across a variety of platforms.
Maintain company-wide external communications calendar.
Maintain and strengthen brand standards.
Strategically amplify, monitor, and engage with content of partners and sector leaders.
Support generating earned and paid media.
Manage established company website at mtforests.com and build and manage firewood facility website.
Travel as needed to fulfill responsibilities and duties. This will include semi-regular travel to the Flathead Valley, and frequent time on-site at the firewood facility near Missoula.
Represent the company professionally with clients, agencies, and the public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
At least one year of sales or marketing experience, including a solid understanding of local market conditions
Experience implementing and managing e-commerce platforms
Experience with social media platforms and associated content creation tools
Professional oral and written communication skills
Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Prior professional experience in the forest resources industry
Graphic design skillsExperience with digital project management platforms, such as Asana
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range $65-75k
