Assist football coaching staff in day‑to‑day operations with the program, including but not limited to coaching, player development, recruiting, scouting, academic support and general operations within NCAA rules. This is a part‑time position, averaging 10–15 hours per week. This position is donor funded and contingent on donor funding.
Required Education

Bachelor’s degree.
Required Experience

One to two years of experience.
Previous coaching, playing, and/or teaching experience.
Primary Duties / Essential Functions

Assist in practice sessions and the education of student‑athletes in the development of techniques, skills, and theory of the sport.
Identify and evaluate prospective student athletes who are good fits for the university, both athletically and academically; communicate with PSAs and families; process official and unofficial visits while communicating through the completion of necessary admissions and university documents.
Aid in preparation for opponents through video breakdown and subsequent written assessments.
Monitor the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with athletic trainers.
Comprehend and operate by standards set forth in the NCAA and APU Manuals while working cooperatively with university coaches, staff, faculty, and community members.
Aid in education and enforcement of NCAA rules as they relate to documentation and input of information in JumpForward and the NCAA portals.
Assist with team travel arrangements.
Aid in the academic support of student‑athletes.
Assist in the supervision of team equipment.
Display a commitment to a Christian philosophy and lifestyle.
Skills

Appropriate knowledge of current thinking in areas of sport techniques and strategy, conditioning, fitness, leadership, and program management.
Ability to appropriately lead, motivate, and mentor student‑athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as an independent contributor.
Good communication skills: both oral and written.
Responsible driving skills.
Mental Demands

Ability to work under pressure, exuding a mature demeanor while multitasking in a deadline‑oriented environment with accuracy and consistency.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretionary skills in determining when to act independently and when to consult management prior to taking action.
Self‑starter with a positive attitude and demonstrated loyalty to the staff, program and university.

Physical Demands

Requires repetitive motions and possible sitting at computer keyboard.
Ability to stand for extended time.
Hearing and speaking on the telephone.
Ability to conduct business at other offices on campus.
Ability to bend, grasp, reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Visual Demands

Reading, writing notes, and computer monitor.
Environment

Office, indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, various weather and temperature conditions.
Technologies

Proficient in Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Hudl, compliance software, and other sport‑specific web‑based and/or scouting applications.
Compensation

Grade 6: $17.72 to $20.38 per hour. Benefits package is offered.
