AVN Tech (Trenton)

Position Overview

The CT-114 Aviation (AVN) Technician will report to the Main Operating Base in Trenton, ON.
Responsibilities

Perform First and Second Level maintenance on CT-114 aircraft mechanical and electrical systems and components.
Servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing and certification of aircraft instruments, avionics, electrical systems, components and ground support equipment.
Ramp duties including pre/post flight inspection and support, elementary tasks, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of mission equipment and crash/salvage response.
Travel and work in support of mobile repair parties (MRP).
Attend trade and personnel development training, and for qualification/certification purposes.
Take part in maintaining a clean and safe work setting.
Adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company, Program Manager and Supervisors.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, and fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Must meet one of the following eligibility streams: graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance or apprenticeship program, hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) E licence, qualified as an Aviation Technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force, or graduate of an equivalent foreign military/civilian basic trade-training program.
Must be able to achieve Maintenance Release Authorizations (MRA) within a reasonable amount of time.
Basic to detailed knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems including power plants, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, safety systems and ejection systems, and power generation and distribution systems.
Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints and Standard Plant Procedures.
Ability to use standard computer programs and specialized ones as needed for duties.
Ability to drive vehicles and tow tractors.
Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean and 5S activities in your area.
Must be eligible to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and hold a Secret Level II Security Clearance through the PSPC Contract Security Program.
