Core Responsibilities


Strategy Strategy & Reporting



  • Create SEO & AI Search (GEO & AEO) roadmaps for client accounts

  • Conduct in-depth SEO & AI Search audits for new clients

  • Produce regular client performance reports: clean, data-driven, and tied to real business outcomes

  • Contribute to monthly client-facing Mandatory Meetings alongside the Account Manager

  • Track KPIs across organic search, AI citation share, and conversion performance

  • Stay current on search engine algorithm updates, AI search developments, and industry best practices, and bring insights back to the team


SEO Execution



  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify high-value content and ranking opportunities

  • Perform on-page optimization: title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, internal linking, etc.

  • Execute technical SEO audits and coordinate fixes with website development team

  • Build and manage link-building outreach campaigns with vendors: prospecting, vetting, and relationship development

  • Monitor and analyze site performance via GA4, Google Search Console, and Ahrefs


GEO & AI Optimization



  • Develop and execute GEO strategies to improve brand visibility in AI-generated responses (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, etc)

  • Audit and implement schema markup and structured data to enhance machine-readability and citation potential

  • Work with MD files to inform large language model (LLM) machine learning

  • Research how AI systems surface content and recommendations in our clients’ verticals and identify authority gaps bgood can fill; report your findings to the SEO & GEO team and clients

  • Partner with content teams to shape articles, landing pages, and product copy for answer-engine discoverability and proper brand messaging


Collaboration



  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing on strategy and prioritization

  • Coordinate with the Account Manager on client deliverables and timelines

  • Collaborate with web developers and designers to ensure SEO & GEO best practices are baked into every build

  • Attend mandatory weekly 1:1 with the Director of Marketing to review progress and calibrate learning


Requirements



  • 2–3 years of hands‑on SEO experience with demonstrated results

  • Working knowledge of GEO/AEO; you’ve been paying attention to how AI systems surface content and you have a point of view on it

  • GA4 certification required

  • Proficiency with Ahrefs or Semrush, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console

  • Familiarity with schema markup and structured data (JSON‑LD)

  • Solid understanding of on‑page, off‑page, and technical SEO fundamentals

  • Experience with link building strategy and outreach

  • Proficiency with AI tools: ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini at minimum

  • Strong analytical skills: you build reports that tell a story, not just show numbers

  • Clear written communicator who can translate technical findings into plain language

  • Experience with WordPress

  • Care about your clients: We’re passionate about our clients and don’t even consider them to be clients. We create partnerships that last the ages. Average client retention for us is 2+ years. You’re someone who wants to share the love and insights with our partners as though you’re actually part of their business


Preferred (Not Required)



  • Experience in e-commerce SEO; Shopify in particular

  • Experience in national SEO and local SEO

  • Familiarity with Travel, Tourism, Outdoor, or Wellness industries

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field


Location


Must be local to Colorado or California.



  • If residing in Colorado: Preferably in the Fort Collins region since our HQ is in Fort Collins, CO.

  • If residing in California: Preferably in the San Diego metropolitan area since part of our team is here.


Compensation & Benefits



  • Base Salary + Commission: Year 1 target $60,000-80,000 (minimum)

  • Base: $50,000 – $70,000 (Based on experience)

  • Commission: Monthly commission discussed with candidates. It’s based on the number of accounts managed. We incentivize the quality of the work we accomplish to keep our partners (clients) happy with the results we produce

  • Benefits: We are working on establishing primary health insurance and Employer-sponsored retirement plans, which will be ready towards 2027.

  • Growth Path: This role is designed to evolve into a Senior SEO & GEO Lead as we grow toward our growth milestone. If you want to excel in your career, we’re the place to evolve.

  • Remote/Hybrid Flexibility: We operate out of local Colorado and San Diego offices. This is a hybrid role to balance deep collaborative work with personal flexibility. Days in the office will be discussed over our interviews.

  • Travel: Opportunity to join founders for national client meetings and industry events.
