The RoleBuzzFeed is looking for a dedicated Assistant Video Editor to join our New York Post Production team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for ingesting media and prepping videos for edit within Adobe Premiere. Candidates may be asked to troubleshoot common Post issues and address technical notes within edits. They will also oversee QC and exporting on occasion. On location work may be expected.Pay: $250/dayBuzzFeed Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. We reserve the ability to adjust the final compensation for this role based on the final candidate's experience, skillset, certifications, and geography.You WillWork on-site from the BuzzFeed CampusAttend active productions, when assigned, and serve as on-set Media ManagerIngest, Transcode, Organize, and Archive footageKeep detailed logs on footage, ingests, and prepsPrep, Sync multi-cam footage, create string outs, assembly cuts, and apply markers.Conform assets for delivery to vendors for sound and color, as well as client deliverablesCollaborate with Editors for larger projects, providing support with dailies, selects, and workflow knowledge to streamline the post process, etc.Address simple technical notes within projects and in-video graphics when requestedEdit low touch short-form contentAssist Post-Production Coordinators in managing of assets and production materialsSupport communication between Production and Post-Production teamsGive feedback on and help improve workflowsWork with Production Technologies to resolve technical issuesYou Have3+ years experience assistant editing digital content in a professional environmentAdvanced knowledge of Mac OS, Google Suite, and Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro (preferred NLE), Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder and After EffectsComfortable working with common video codecs, formats and timecode formatsComfortable sharing feedback within a small team environmentDetail-orientedAbility to complete tasks autonomouslyAbility to adapt and meet changing timelines and deliverables while maintaining multiple tasksWorking knowledge of Post Production and Production process and equipmentKnowledge of social media and digital video platforms a plusProactive, positive team player, able to help guide projects from ingest to deliveryExperience with DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Audition for color and sound finishing a plusExperience behind a camera and knowledge of lighting and sound design a plusExperience with proxy-based workflows, remote workflows, SANs and MAMs a plusExperience with designing and laying in GFX/VFX a plusYou Can ExpectA supportive, inclusive atmosphere on a team that values your contributionsOpportunities for personal and professional growth through work experience, offerings from our in-house Learning @ BuzzFeed team, our Employee Resource Groups, and moreLife at BuzzFeed, Inc.We celebrate inclusion and are committed to equal opportunity employment.
