Plant Technician
To be considered for this role you must be able/willing to work any of the listed shifts, as we cannot guarantee placement on a certain shift at this time.
Plant technicians are hired as members of a high-performance work team. Technician work teams are responsible for:
- Operating production lines
- Keeping production flowing
- Meeting performance goals
- Maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products
Essential functions of this position include:
- Work in and out-of-doors in the seasonal ranges of temperature and humidity.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Enter confined spaces including tanks and other normal work areas
- Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, etc. on equipment, tankage and building structures for the purpose of inspecting, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
- Bend at the knees and bend and twist the back for the purposes of operating and maintaining equipment.
- Stand on concrete floors for periods of up to 12 hours/shift.
- Drive a material handling tractor backwards in areas of high traffic and close quarters.
- Operate high speed equipment requiring high levels of physical coordination and sensory capability (i.e. auditory, visual, olfactory, touch).
- Consistently attend work during normally scheduled work hours
- Work any scheduled shifts, weekends, up to 12 hours and occasional overtime. (Rotating shifts Plant specific)
Technicians perform various types of work such as:
- Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed making, packing and other production related equipment
- Using basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, grinders, etc.
- Performing preventative maintenance on equipment
- Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations, demonstrate ownership, confront business-related problems and continuously improve the equipment and processes
- Technicians are responsible for following all safety and good manufacturing practices as detailed in plant procedures
Qualifications:
PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE (2 yrs. Preferred) Individuals with a desire to learn manufacturing processes including operating and maintaining automated equipment, computer systems and product distribution systems, should apply.
In addition, we are seeking individuals with:
- Strong technical aptitude, proven leadership, problem solving skills, solid interpersonal skills, computer skills (Data Bases, Excel, Word, or equivalent)
- Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
- Ability to work well in a team-based, diverse culture
- Experience in liquid process or packing operations
Job Type: Full time (Overtime)
Salary: $23.95/hr (plus shift differential if applicable)
Schedule:
12 HR SHIFTS
- Day Shift 5 am - 5:30 pm
- Night Shift 5pm - 5:30 am
8 HR SHIFTS
- First Shift 5 am - 1:30 pm
- Second Shift: 1 pm - 9:30 pm
- Third Shift 9 pm - 5:30 am
