Associate Social Media Video Producer, TODAY Digital
The Associate Video Producer on the TODAY social team is responsible for editing and publishing short-form video and creating static social content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
This role focuses on fast turnaround of broadcast clips and original content into clear, platform-optimized vertical video. Responsibilities include editing, packaging, and basic design, working closely with social producers daily. On a weekly cadence, there will be crossover collaborations with broadcast producers and other NBCU brands.
Daily content includes a mix of breaking news, celebrity interviews, health, lifestyle, and talent-driven moments. This role requires strong editorial judgment and the ability to work quickly under a deadline.

Responsibilities
Edit and publish short-form vertical video across social platforms
Take on bulk of editing social content for original series and podcasts
Clip and reformat broadcast segments in real time
Understand the art of editing, framing, captioning, and audio
Writing captions and social copy
Use Premiere to edit videos; experiment with emerging editing platforms
Use Figma and Photoshop to create templates and graphics
Design thumbnails, overlays, and text treatments
Work across news, pop culture, lifestyle, health, and talent content
Track trends
Identify timely social opportunities
Source and clear UGC following internal guidelines
Collaborate with social, broadcast, and editorial teams
Manage multiple edits on tight deadlines
Use analytics to improve content
Ensure content meets TODAY editorial standards
Qualifications
2+ years of video editing experience (digital, social, or broadcast)
Strong editing skills for vertical and short-form video
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere or similar tools (Final Cut, CapCut, Avid)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Photoshop
Strong design skills (typography, layout, captions, thumbnails)
Understanding of social platform performance and trends
Strong editorial judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organization skills
Available for Sunday–Thursday
Preferred Experience
Digital newsroom or news broadcast background
Some experience converting broadcast to social formats
Familiarity with TODAY voice and content mix
Basic motion graphics, color, and audio editing skills
Experience with breaking news, live events, and fast-turn content
Strong instinct for what performs on social
Interest in emerging platforms and formats

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in New York a minimum of four days per week.

Salary range:
$75,000 - $85,000
