We are seeking an experienced and creative Junior Dresses & Tops Designer to lead the design and development of our fashion junior dresses and tops collections. The ideal candidate possesses a strong fashion aesthetic, a deep understanding of the junior market, and the ability to translate emerging trends into commercially successful product while maintaining a strong value-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience designing junior dresses and tops.
Strong understanding of the junior apparel market, including trends, silhouettes, fabrics, color, and fit.
Proven ability to identify emerging fashion trends and translate them into commercially viable product.
Experience working with both knit and woven categories.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and product development.
Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors.
Ability to analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to drive product decisions.
Experience designing for off-price, department store, and/or specialty retail customers is preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and related design software.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects and seasons simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities
Research, identify, and forecast fashion trends, colors, fabrics, prints, and silhouettes relevant to the junior market.
Lead the creative vision and seasonal development of fashion junior dresses and tops collections.
Create original concepts, sketches, CADs, and development packages for seasonal assortments.
Partner closely with merchandising, sales, and production teams to develop trend-right product aligned with customer needs, cost targets, and business objectives.
Attend fittings and sample reviews to ensure fit, quality, and design integrity throughout the development process.
Collaborate with overseas factories and vendors on product development, costing, and execution.
Analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth and product improvement.
Present seasonal concepts, trend direction, and product assortments to internal teams and customers as needed.
Shop the market regularly and maintain awareness of competitive trends, retail opportunities, and emerging fashion directions.
Balance creativity with commercial viability to ensure product meets customer expectations, retail price points, and margin requirements.
