Area of Responsibility: Teachers are responsible for instruction, supervision, classroom management, student assessment and evaluation, communication and collaboration, and extracurricular involvement. They must meet the TAP Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities Performance Standards, focusing on student academic growth and alignment with Caddo Parish Public School System accountability measures.

Domain 1: Instruction
Indicators:

Standards and Objectives – Planning and communicating clearly defined learning outcomes aligned to standards.

Motivating Students – Organizing and presenting content to engage students, requiring in‑depth knowledge of students.

Presenting Instructional Content – Using visuals, examples, analogies, and clear communication to facilitate learning.

Lesson Structure and Pacing – Segmenting lessons to allocate time effectively.

Activities and Materials – Selecting diverse materials and activities that support objectives and student needs.

Questioning – Implementing questioning techniques to elicit student responses and guide learning.

Domain 4: Professionalism

Growing and Developing Professionally – Participating in professional development, implementing new learning, and maintaining yearly plans.

Reflecting on Teaching – Assessing lesson effectiveness, offering improvement actions, and utilizing student data.

Community Involvement – Supporting school activities and events.

School Responsibilities – Taking leadership responsibilities and assisting peers for a safe and orderly environment.

Other Performance Responsibilities

Administer classroom in accordance with Caddo Parish School Board policies, including lesson planning, grading, reporting, and contributing to school improvement.

Handle administrative/management, curricular, and extracurricular duties such as supervising authorized school activities, supervising students during recess, lunch, assemblies, and duty times.

Collaborate with staff, parents, students, and stakeholders.

Maintain attendance and report promptly to work in compliance with policy and state law.

Attend meetings related to instruction, professional training, IEP meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, discipline hearings, and required trainings.

Maintain professional appearance and conduct.

Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Professional Conduct
Employees must maintain a high standard of professional conduct. Breach includes neglect of duty, dishonesty, and conduct contrary to policy, unlawful activities, or other judgment‑injuring actions.

Minimum Qualifications
United States citizen or authorized alien; requirements consistent with Louisiana Bulletin 746 (state certification for school personnel).

Personal Characteristics
Physical and mental stamina, ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties; physical health sufficient to report regularly and manage students; organizational and planning skills.

Terms of Employment
172 days, or as stated in contract or employment agreement.
